Angle strips are like the bed strips, but they fit in the corner of the bed along the bed side. The angle strip bolts to the bed wood and originally is spot welded to the side. Notice the bed wood edge board does not have a groove for the angle strip. It sits ON TOP of the wood. Angle strips are roll formed and available in polished stainless for the “chrome” look, unpolished stainless or plain steel if you are planning on painting them. Angles are punched with square 5/16” holes according to the original hole pattern. The dimension are 1-1/2” x 1” and they are 18 gauge thickness. NOTE: Ford® beds did not have angles originally, however the repair angle can be used to cover the rusted area along the bed side or strictly for “looks” if you want. The angles come in straight or curved sets depending on the year and whether it is a “high side” or a “low side”.
